The financial health of a city relies on a robust and equitable property tax system. Citiyano De Solutions partnered with the Dewas Municipal Corporation to implement a comprehensive GIS based Property Tax Reform. This project targeted over 80,000 households, combining a multipurpose survey with advanced GIS mapping to create an accurate, dynamic Property Tax Register.
The new system was fully integrated with the Nagar Palika portal, allowing for realtime updates and transparent tax administration. By identifying previously unassessed and underassessed properties, we helped the city broaden its tax base and improve collection efficiency. The initiative included technical handholding to ensure long-term sustainability, transforming municipal revenue management and creating a model for other Urban Local Bodies across the state.

Scope
Households Covered: Surveyed and mapped over 80,000 properties within Dewas Municipal Corporation.
GIS Mapping: Developed high-resolution GIS-based property maps integrated with assessment and taxation data.
Multi-Purpose Survey: Conducted comprehensive door-to-door surveys to capture property attributes, ownership details, and usage information.
Nagar Palika Integration: Integrated the Property Tax Register with the state portal to enable real-time data updates and synchronization.
Technical Handholding: Delivered training, capacity building, and continuous technical support to municipal staff.
Pilot Implementation: Successfully tested, validated, and refined the system in a pilot ward prior to citywide deployment.
Hardware & Software Deployment: Supplied and implemented the necessary technology infrastructure to ensure seamless operations.
Interim & Final Reporting: Prepared and submitted detailed progress, performance, and outcome reports to the Municipal Corporation.
